Well, folks! What a wonderful well out night that was on Fri 9th October in the Portobello Community Centre! More than we could have hoped, we raised an acclaimed amount of fun, and we raised over twice the target of funds for PONGS!

I've said it elsewhere and I'll say it again here - thanks to everyone for coming, to all those who helped organise it, sell tickets, set it up and perform for it.

Please let us have your feedback here on this blog, or on the form at the end of the PONGS page. Don't just say it was "great" or "rubbish" - tell us what was good, and what would have made it better. We want to keep improving it. Thanks.

Finally, it would be good if those who were there can tell their friends and family how much fun it was. And also think of linking in their favourite charity to the idea that they could run one next time as a fund-raiser!

Keen Kids! 10/22/2008

The September Malecon Matinee - our Portobello afternoon attempt to match the Cuban daytime music and dance - was a surprise. Lots of locals including children came along, people who were not from the Salsa scene. Well, we did 4 dances of these simple Salsa Ceilidh patterns, amongst other fun tricks we have up our sleeve! And the (primary school age) kids loved it - they even wanted to get in on our more advanced Rueda de Casino sets. So this was better than we could ever expect and certainly matched the kind of community party the Cubans do so well.

Then, afterwards, a neighbour and friend continued to say how much the kids had enjoyed it and wanted more. So I am now trying, with her help, to work towards an after school Salsa Ceilidh club! It's always been one of my visions, that I never expected to achieve to get kids interested.

Hello Salsa Ceilidh Friends
Here's a blog just for you to tell us what you think of Salsa Ceilidh and this website.
Have fun now!
